PENNDOT Owned & Maintained within Franklin Township

The Township has now received a couple of phone calls regarding North Creek Road and the poor quality of paving that was done on this road by PENNDOT.  Within 2nd Class Township’s, such as Franklin Township, there are roads that are owned and maintained by PENNDOT and other roads that are owned and maintained by Franklin Township.  Please click here to view a map created by PENNDOT which distinguishes who owns what roads.  When looking at the map, to help orient yourself, look for the Route 896 – Chesterville Road intersection.  While doing so you will notice that these (State) roads are double lined.  Roads depicted with a single line are owned and maintained by Franklin Township.
