Vandalism – Crossan Park

May 7, 2023 – Daylight Hours

Did you see something?  Say something, please!

STOP Vandalism

Statistics show that vandalism costs schools, homeowners, and businesses more than $15 billion dollars each year.  Ultimately, those costs get passed along to the public.

On May 7, 2023, during daylight hours our athletic field was turfed, and approximately 14 tube trees were run over.  Trash was left in the parking lot, one of the large soccer goal posts was dragged into the parking lot and a concrete park stop was damaged.  The cost of this vandalism could reach $3,000.00.  Trooper Romero from the Avondale State Police Barracks is investigating.  It is believed the bad actors are coming in through the woods and or up the pipeline R-O-W at the back of Crossan Park.

Let’s work together to try and put a stop to vandalism.  It is vitally important that if you see something, say something, and report it to the Avondale State Police Barracks immediately at 610-268-2022.  Do not approach the bad actors - vandals.  Take photos or videos if you can without endangering yourself.  The second call that you can make is to the Franklin Township Operations Manager, Jeff Eastburn, on his work cell phone – 24/7.  If I am at home after hours and can respond, I will so please call 610-637-4073.  The Avondale State Police are always our best line of defense.  Just remember motorized vehicles are not allowed beyond the parking lots, this includes ATV's and Dirt Bikes.  If you see them on the trails within Crossan Park and or Franklin Preserve or on the grass, report this bad behavior immediately.
