Franklin Township - Elected Auditor Vacancy - Additional Information

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that due to the recent resignation of an elected Auditor at the January 3, 2022, BOS Organization Meeting, there is a vacancy.  If you are interested in being considered to be appointed to this position, please send an email to jeastburn@franklintownship.us describing the reason for your interest and how your life experiences will contribute to your success in this position no later than January 13, 2022.  You may also choose to submit your information via US mail and/or dropping it off at the Township Office.

The decision on who will fill this vacancy will be made at the next BOS meeting scheduled for January 19, 2022, starting at 7:00 PM. The position will commence after this meeting and continue until the end of December 2023.  The public is encouraged to attend via Zoom;  the invitation is located on the Township website.  If you have any questions, please call the Township Office at 1-610-255-5212.

 

PLEASE NOTE

The Board of Auditors is comprised of three individuals who are elected by the residents of Franklin Township for staggered six-year terms.  The duties of the elected auditors are detailed in Section 900 of the Pennsylvania Second Class Township Code.  You can click on the link above.

The township contracts with an independent certified public accounting firm to provide an annual audit of the Township’s financial statements in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards. Therefore, the current duty of the elected auditors is limited to determining the compensation and mileage reimbursement for supervisors employed by the Township in accordance with Section 606 of the Pennsylvania Second Class Township Code.
