Chesterville Road Sinkhole at a Culvert Pipe – A Story of Years

The Township first contacted PENNDOT back in April of 2018 regarding this sinkhole.  At that time, it looked like this –

PENNDOT did come out, to do a quick fix and then this same area looked like this for a very long period of time -

Staff kept in contact into this year with PENNDOT regarding this issue and they did a permanent fix that was completed over the past couple of weeks (2021) and it now looks like this –

When Township Staff and the Board of Supervisors are alerted to issues on State Roads, we do take it seriously and call and or email them until the area is fixed.  We get as frustrated as our residents do.  This is your PA State Tax Money at work.  We encourage our residents to call PENNDOT Chester County Maintenance at 1-484-340-3201.
