Franklin Township Comprehensive Plan

Pursuant to Article III, Section 302(a) of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code (MPC), Franklin Township is requesting the review by the public of the display draft of its 2022 Comprehensive Plan. The plan is being distributed to all contiguous municipalities to Franklin Township, Chester County Planning Commission, the Avon Grove School District, the Avon Grove Charter School, and the Cecil County Maryland Government Services Building - Director of Planning for their comments. In accordance with Section 302 of the MPC, any comments regarding the Comprehensive Plan Draft must be received within forty-five (45) days of this notice.

The Plan is intended to guide future development of the Township based on recent information on existing and projected population and other conditions, mapping; plan recommendations for natural resources and the environment; parks and recreation; historic preservation; connectivity; community services and facilities; commercial and economic development; future land use; and the means by which they will be implemented.

A copy of the full text of the proposed Plan is available for public examination without charge on the Township website or may be obtained for a charge not greater than the cost of copying at the Franklin Township Municipal Office during regular business hours Monday through Thursday, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, except holidays at 20 Municipal Lane, Landenberg, PA .  An opportunity will be afforded to all interested persons in attendance at the Board of Supervisors meetings to be held on June 15, 2022, July 20, 2022, and August 1, 2022, at 7:00 PM to address the Board of Supervisors in the matter of the proposed Comprehensive Plan.  The Public Hearing to adopt the 2022 Comprehensive Plan will take place on August 17, 2022, at 7:00 PM at the Franklin Township Municipal Office.  If you are a person with a disability and wish to attend the meetings as noted above, and require an auxiliary aid, service, or other accommodation to observe or participate in the proceedings, please contact Jeff Eastburn, Township Operations Manager (610-255-5212), to discuss how Franklin Township may best accommodate your needs.  If you would like to attend these meetings via Zoom, you will find the invitation on the Township website  www.franklintownship.us under the calendar section.
